At the bottom of your document window is an info bar that displays
the
document size. Click on the little pull down and choose "Efficiency."
If you reading is 100% then
Photoshop is running ia all RAM. If it reads less than 100%, you might
want to get some more RAM.
Setting a
photo into type: First choose
some BIG black type and put it on its own layer. Now place the
image on a layer above the type layer and press Command-Ctrl G. The
image now appears in the
shape of your type.
To resize
the window as you zoom in Photoshop: For
WINDOWS - press Ctrl-Alt then + or - key.
For MAC - press Space-Command-Opt then the + or - key.
Navigate
with open dialog box: You can
still navigate through your image with a dialog box open.
If you go to the "View" menu, you will notice that a lot
of you options are still available.
Layer duplication:
Instead of dragging the layer to
the New Layer Icon, just press Command-J
to duplicate the layer.
Brush softness: Use
Shift-[ or Shift-] to change the brush softness without changing the
brush size.
When you shrink an image:
using the transform or image size dialogs, run the Unsharp Mask
Filter under Filters> Sharpen to get rid of some of the blur.
Import from
digital camera: it is most likely
a 72dpi JPEG image. Your image may be as wide
as 36 inches, so to change this, go to the Image Size dialog, select
Constrain Proportions, and change
the Resolution to 300dpi.
Happy pixel pushing, Good Luck!!
